The Fire In My Eyes

Racing down the road
with my eyes on fire
making up the rules
I’m an honest liar
I pass judgement
swift but fair

Roasting coast to coast
these are blue eyes burning
getting nowhere fast
that’s my tummy churning
I have decided
I don’t care

Flame on!
Flame on!
and I glance to the left
and there’s another one gone
she's caught in the heat of her lies
and seared by the fire in my eyes

Slicing and dicing
with lasers from limbo
flowing like lava
from a molten volcano
when I blink
the sparks do fly

Stoking up the coals
from the dying embers
barbecuing riff-raff
into crispy cinders
some I scorch
and some I fry

Flame on!
Flame on!
and I peer to the right
and there’s another one gone
'coz they can’t see through my disguise
till they're charred by the fire in my eyes

Thinking ‘bout my life
nothing better to do
boiling in the oil
and the sweat and the goo
I am the light
in an endless night

Laughing at the world
I’m the cold forgiver
melting in the frost
in the sun I shiver
I am the Prince of Fahrenheit

Flame on!
Flame on!
and I stare straight ahead
and there’s another one gone
and though many a good man tries
nothing can extinguish the fire in my eyes
