Wet Paper Bag

I will climb the highest hill
I will plug the oil spill
I will feed the hungry horde
I will dull the sharpest sword
I will rebuild every single slum
I will call to them and they will come

I will blaze the golden path
I will fix their fuzzy math
I will break the speed of sound
I will find what can’t be found
I will bring the driest desert rain
I will tame the harshest hurricane

I will crawl the extra mile
I will make a sad man smile
I will cure the worst disease
I will get up off these knees
and I will wave my torn and tattered flag
if I can just breach the confines
of this wet paper bag

I will swim the ocean wide
I will calm the other side
I will sweep the killing floor
I will end this endless war
I will slow the callous hands of time
I will rid this wicked world of crime

I will satisfy everyone
I will harness the sun
I will realign the stars
I’ll warm Pluto I’ll move Mars
I will take what’s wrong and make it right
I will turn today into tonight

I will answer every prayer
I will patch the ozone layer
I will stop the graft and greed
I will sweat and I will bleed
and I will raise my torn and tattered flag
if I could but breach the confines
of this wet paper bag
